MEHFPGP / ACTH(4-10) analog
Synthetic heptapeptide (ACTH(4-10) analog) developed at Moscow State University. Approved in Russia for stroke, TBI, cognitive disorders, and optic nerve disease. Normalizes BDNF, enhances neuroplasticity, crosses BBB via intranasal delivery. One of the most studied nootropic peptides.
Melanocortin receptor partial agonist (MC4R, MC5R). Upregulates BDNF and TrkB expression in hippocampus. Modulates NO/cGMP system. Enhances neuroplasticity and neurogenesis. Increases cerebral blood flow. Anti-inflammatory (reduces IL-6, TNF-α in CNS). Influences dopamine and serotonin turnover.
Intranasal: 1% solution, 2-3 drops per nostril QID (stroke/cognitive) or BID (nootropic). SC: 500-1000μg daily. Courses of 10-15 days, repeat as needed.
Semax in ischemic stroke: systematic review
Semax BDNF upregulation in animal models
Semax in optic nerve disease
Semax nootropic effects in healthy subjects
Lyophilized: -20°C to 2-8°C. Reconstituted: 2-8°C, use within 7 days. Nasal solution: room temperature protected from light.
